As the nights draw in and daylight begins to fade, The Royal Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh take on a magical glow as they transform into an enchanted wonderland of spectacular light and gentle shadows for the annual Botanic Lights.
Visitors wend their way gently round a one and a gentle path where trees, fountains and buildings appear to take on a stunning new magical life. The Botanic Lights experience is quite mystical, leaving you with a sense of peace and inner calm.
This year’s event, with over a million lights, features sparkling tunnels of light, dancing lakeside reflections and giant baubles.
The scents of Christmas are brought to life courtesy of street food vendors selling winter favourites such as hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows.
