Boasting more Michelin starred restaurants than any other UK city except London, Edinburgh really has become a haven for fine dining – and therein lies a problem, how to choose which are the best of the best. We’ve pulled together this special section on the Best Restaurants in Edinburgh to help you decide!
Purslane Stockbridge
Purslane really is one of Edinburgh’s hidden gems, so hidden in fact that people I know who work in St Stephen’s Street have to be directed to it.
We first discovered Purslane shortly after it opened and were amazed at the quality of the food and value for money, so we’ve been back and back and back…

One Square at The Sheraton Grand
We have to say that One Square at The Sheraton Grand was a huge surprise and we’re absolutely delighted to have discovered it.
Their pre-theatre supper menu is served from 12:00 to 19:00 and is £16.00 (two courses) or £20.00 (three courses).

Castle Terrace Restaurant
This really is a treat – although Michelin starred, this a very relaxed restaurant, which certainly lives up to its reputation.
We highly recommend the taster menu, with matching wines, even though it may seem expensive it’s worth every penny!

Indian Cavalry Club
An up market Indian restaurant, which serves dishes rarely available from other Indian restaurants.
We wouldn’t like to think of how many times we’ve eaten here – the Red Fort Chicken is to die for – and they’re very happy to cater dishes to your individual taste. Read our review at: Indian Cavalry Club
