It may be called Dynamic Earth because it tells the story of our changing planet, but it’s also dynamic as far as a corporate venue is concerned.
I wrongly expected that the meeting rooms, which are underneath the main visitor attraction, would feel somewhat claustrophobic. They are in fact light and airy with high ceilings and many having natural daylight.
The largest area is the Biosphere Suite, which is big enough for an impressive 300 people theatre style and can be split into two rooms to accommodate smaller groups.
There are an additional four break out areas, as well as classrooms which can be hired individually or as a complete suite, and a choice of projectors, screens, PA systems and lighting is included in the facility fee.
Overall, the venue is highly functional and the staff have a very “can do” attitude to tailor events to specific requirements, but what really sets Dynamic Earth apart from its competitors is the use of its visitor attraction facilities.
The futuristic Stratosphere, which holds the entrance and café by day is transformed into a dramatic function space by night with the use of clever in-house lighting and projection, making it ideal for gala dinners for up to 550 guests, exhibitions and large drinks receptions for up to 1200 guests.
A cocktail party takes on a whole new meaning when it’s set in a Tropical Rain Forest and if you’d really like your G&T on ice then a reception in the Polar Gallery holds its own iceberg and Scotland’s only 360 degree cinema is a real talking point.
