Having developed a unique and distinct dance language, Richard Alston has played a significant role in shaping contemporary dance in the UK and, with the company closing in 2020, this will be the last chance to see them in Edinburgh.
The performances feature the world premiere performance of A Far Cry, set to the Introduction and Allegor of Edward Elgar, as well as the British premiere of Voices and Light Footsteps set to the vocal music of Claudio Monteverdi, the revival of Mazur, a duet for two men to evocative pieces by Chopin and last year’s hugely popular Brahms Hungarian, both pieces featuring live solo pianist Jason Ridgway.
A pre-show talk will take place on the evening of 27 September. The event is free but ticketed – details and tickets at Pre-Show Talk
Dates: 27 & 28 September 2019
