There’s a package for every taste, and a variety of budgets. Highlights can include a glass of champagne sipped on the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle, a viewing of The World’s Largest Scotch Whisky Experience, or a chance to meet members of the Tattoo cast before they perform. Some of the venues are offering an exclusive private dining experience, whilst others welcome individuals together with groups, and you can purchase tickets via the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo website for as many or few people as you desire.
Here’s a look at what’s on offer:
Edinburgh Castle Tattoo dinner packages: Private Dining packages or tickets available
The Castle Gatehouse: Private only
For smaller groups, spoil your guests with a private dinner in the historic and intimate 19th century Castle Gatehouse. Your group will sip champagne on Edinburgh Castle’s ramparts, before a three course dinner. You’ll then make your way out of the impressive Castle gates to take your seats in the Royal Gallery before the performance begins.
Purchase tickets and join a table in Edinburgh Castle’s newly refurbished Jacobite Room. This is a fabulous experience with a three course meal and a brief ‘teaser’ performance by Tattoo cast members, after which you will be escorted to your superior seating section to enjoy the Tattoo performance.
Join a table in the historic Queen Anne Room in Edinburgh Castle. You’ll be welcomed with a glass of champagne and a short but fascinating history of Edinburgh glass, before enjoying a three course dinner.
You’ll then be escorted to a prime location seat, or if you’ve really splashed out, a set in the Royal Gallery for the main event.
The Scotch Whisky Experience Edinburgh Tattoo dinner packages: Tickets available
Get a Scotch whisky education as you enjoy The Scotch Whisky Experience tour, complete with a final canapé and whisky cocktail reception where you can mingle with members of the Tattoo cast – the perfect photo op! Please be aware that whilst delicious and fairly substantial, the canapés presented are not a full meal, so packing some refreshment for the Tattoo performance may be an idea.
In the surroundings of The Scotch Whisky Experience’s luxurious events suite you’ll enjoy a sumptuous dinner of three courses matched with three different whiskies, tutored by a senior whisky expert.
You’ll be piped on Board Britannia before getting a private tour of The Queen’s former floating palace. You’ll then enjoy an impeccably served two-course dinner. After the Tattoo itself, you can mix with the stars of the Tattoo at the Producer’s post show party.
Beneath The Scotch Whisky Experience lies the renowned Scottish restaurant & whisky bar, Amber, where you’ll savour a three course culinary tour of Scotland before being escorted to the performance.
The Cannonball package: Met personally by the owner, you’ll enjoy three courses of the Italian/Scottish fusion dining that Contini restaurants have made their hallmark, before the short journey to your Tattoo seats.
The Piper’s Package at The Scottish Café: Enjoy a light summer supper complete with wine before really getting into the spirit of the occasion as your own Scottish piper escorts you up The Mound to the Tattoo venue!
