Let me start by saying I don’t believe in mind readers, psychics, or any other kind of hocus pocus, but I am absolutely fascinated by the art involved in fooling an audience and mind reader Colin Cloud didn’t disappoint.
I am obsessed enough (some may say sad enough) to have been known to hit re-wind a few times on Derren Brown’s shows in a pathetic attempt to discover just how it’s all done. Needless to say I’ve failed miserably most of the time, but that doesn’t take away from how much I enjoy such shows, so I was delighted to be invited to see mind reader Colin Cloud.
The venue was the Sky Bar at the Point Hotel, which was intimate enough to make the whole audience feel included in the show.
I wouldn’t want to ruin the show for anybody who’s planning on seeing it, but Colin reeled us in slowly, building a rapport with his audience. The act was polished and witty and although there were two tricks my friend and I managed to figure out we were absolutely dumbfounded by others.
So, mind reader Colin Cloud? No, he’s not a mind reader, but he is a great showman and for just £15.00 per ticket I’d definitely go to see his act again.
